aichana bacana kahala yaba kāna braja-ramaṇī-gaṇa sajala nayāna

aichana bacana kahala yaba kana braja-ramani-gana sajala nayana

ऐछन बचन कहल यब कान ब्रजरमणीगण सजल नयान

When Lord Krsna spoke these words, tears flowed from the gopis' eyes.

ṭutāla sabahu manoratha karaṇī abanata ānane nakhe likhu dharaṇī

tutala sabahu manoratha karani abanata anane nakhe likhu dharani

टुताल सबहु मनोरथ करणी अबनत आनने नखे लिखु धरणी

The gopis' desires were all broken into pieces. The gopīs bowed their heads. With their toenails they scratched the ground.

ākula antara gadagada kaha-i akaruṇa bacana biśikha nāhi saha-i

akula antara gadagada kaha-i akaruna bacana bisikha nahi saha-i

आकुल अन्तर गदगद कहै अकरुण बचन बिशिख नाहि सहै

Their hearts were overcome. They spoke broken words in choked voices. They could not bear Krsna's cruel sharp words.

śuna śuna su-kapaṭa śyāmara canda kaiche kahasi tuhu iha anubandha

suna suna su-kapata syamara canda kaiche kahasi tuhu iha anubandha

शुन शुन सुकपट श्यामर चन्द कैछे कहसि तुहु इह अनुबन्ध

"Listen. Listen, O cruel dark moon Krsna. Why do You speak these words?

bhāṅgahi kula-śīla muralīka-gāne kiṅkiṇī-gaṇa janu keśa dhari āne

bhangahi kula-sila muralika-gane kinkini-gana janu kesa dhari ane

भाङ्गहि कुलशील मुरलीकगाने किङ्किणीगण जनु केश धरि आने

"Your flute music broke our saintliness into pieces. Now we are Your maidservants. It is You who hold us by the hair.

aba kaha kapaṭe dharama-yuta bola dhārmika haraye kiye kumārī nicola

aba kaha kapate dharama-yuta bola dharmika haraye kiye kumari nicola

अब कह कपटे धरमयुत बोल धार्मिक हरये किये कुमारी निचोल

"Now You speak these crooked words of pretended dharma. How can a saintly girl remove even her cloak in front of You?

tohe soṁpita jība tuyā rasa pāba tuyā pada choḍi aba ko kāṁhā yāba

tohe sompita jiba tuya rasa paba tuya pada chodi aba ko kamha yaba

तोहे सोंपित जीब तुया रस पाब तुया पद छोडि अब को कांहा याब

"We have given our lives to You. We yearn to taste the nectar of Your company. Where will we go if we leave Your feet?"

etahu kahata braja-yubatī mela śuni nanda-nandana haraṣita bhela

etahu kahata braja-yubati mela suni nanda-nandana harasita bhela

एतहु कहत ब्रजयुबती मेल शुनि नन्दनन्दन हरषित भेल

These words the girls of Vraja spoke. Hearing them, Lord Krsna became happy.

kabi parasāda tahi karaye bilāsa ānande nirakhaye gobinda-dāsa

kabi parasada tahi karaye bilasa anande nirakhaye gobinda-dasa

कबि परसाद तहि करये बिलास आनन्दे निरखये गोबिन्ददास
