  1. Verse 1

śiṣya hoiyā kore yei gitāra śravaṇa ghucibe ajñāna āra saṁsāra bandhana

sisya hoiya kore yei gitara sravana ghucibe ajnana ara samsara bandhana

    शिष्य होइया कोरे येइ गितार श्रवण घुचिबे अज्ञान आर संसार बन्धन

Becoming a disciple, Arjuna listened to the Bhagavad-gita. All his ignorance dissipated as well as his material bondage.

  2. Verse 2

saṁsāra ghucilo kintu bāhya nyāsī noy gitār tātparye gṛhī e rūpa bujhāy

samsara ghucilo kintu bahya nyasi noy gitar tatparye grhi e rupa bujhay

    संसार घुचिलो किन्तु बाह्य न्यासी नोय गितार तात्पर्ये गृही ए रूप बुझाय

His material bondage was cut, but he was not dressed as a sannyasi. The householders understand the Gita's meaning this way.

  3. Verse 3

“kariṣye vacanaṁ tava” sei mantra siddhi ataeva yuddhe tāṅra ho’lo yaśo-vṛddhi

“karisye vacanam tava” sei mantra siddhi ataeva yuddhe tanra ho’lo yaso-vrddhi

    “करिष्ये वचनं तव” सेइ मन्त्र सिद्धि अतएव युद्धे ताङ्र होऽलो यशोवृद्धि

The perfection of mantras was “I will do what you say.” Therefore, the war that he fought brought him an increase in fame.

  4. Verse 4

vaiṣṇava nirīha saba mālā japa kore e kon vaiṣṇava arjuna saṁsāra bhitore

vaisnava niriha saba mala japa kore e kon vaisnava arjuna samsara bhitore

    वैष्णव निरीह सब माला जप कोरे ए कोन वैष्णव अर्जुन संसार भितोरे

Vaisnavas have no desires. They all chant on beads. What kind of Vaisnava is Arjuna in the middle of the material world?
