  1. Verse 1

hari he! prapañce poḍiyā, agati hoiyā, nā dekhi upāya ār agatira gati, caraṇe śaraṇa, tomāya korinu sār

hari he! prapance podiya, agati hoiya, na dekhi upaya ar agatira gati, carane sarana, tomaya korinu sar

    हरि हे! प्रपञ्चे पोडिया, अगति होइया, ना देखि उपाय आर अगतिर गति, चरणे शरण, तोमाय कोरिनु सार

O Lord Hari, having fallen helplessly into the illusion of this world, I see no other means of deliverance but You. You are the only recourse for the helpless. I accept the shelter of Your lotus feet as essential.

  2. Verse 2

karama geyāna, kichu nāhi mora, sādhana bhajana nāi tumi kṛpā-moya, āmi to’ kāṅgāla, ahaitukī kṛpā cāi

karama geyana, kichu nahi mora, sadhana bhajana nai tumi krpa-moya, ami to’ kangala, ahaituki krpa cai

    करम गेयान, किछु नाहि मोर, साधन भजन नाइ तुमि कृपामोय, आमि तोऽ काङ्गाल, अहैतुकी कृपा चाइ

I have no knowledge, no background of pious activities, nor any history of strict devotional practice. But You are full of compassion and kindness. Therefore, although I am certainly destitute, I solicit Your causeless mercy.

  3. Verse 3

    vākya-mano-vega, krodha-jihvā-vega, udara-upastha-vega miliyā e saba, saṁsāre bhāsā’ye, diteche paramodvega

    vakya-mano-vega, krodha-jihva-vega, udara-upastha-vega miliya e saba, samsare bhasa’ye, diteche paramodvega

    वाक्यमनोवेग, क्रोधजिह्वावेग, उदरौपस्थवेग मिलिया ए सब, संसारे भासाऽये, दितेछे परमोद्वेग

The powerful urges of speech, mind, anger, tongue, belly, and genital have banded together to cast me adrift on the sea of this material world, thus causing me great anxiety and trouble.

  4. Verse 4

aneka jatane, se saba damane, chāḍiyāchi āśā āmi anāthera nātha! ḍāki tava nāma, ekhona bharasā tumi

aneka jatane, se saba damane, chadiyachi asa ami anathera natha! daki tava nama, ekhona bharasa tumi

    अनेक जतने, से सब दमने, छाडियाछि आशा आमि अनाथेर नाथ! डाकि तव नाम, एखोन भरसा तुमि

After great endeavor to subdue these material demands, I have completely given up all hope. O Lord of the destitute, I call upon Your holy name, for now You are my only shelter.
