  1. Verse 1

karma phale āse saba nānā veśa dhari veśete majiyā thāke bhuliyā śrī hari

karma phale ase saba nana vesa dhari vesete majiya thake bhuliya sri hari

    कर्म फले आसे सब नाना वेश धरि वेशेते मजिया थाके भुलिया श्री हरि

By the fruits of action, all souls come down and adopt a body. Immersed in that dress of the body, they forget Sri Hari.

  2. Verse 2

ataeva māyā tāre deya bahu duḥkha duḥkhe hābuḍubu tabu tāhe māne sukha

ataeva maya tare deya bahu duhkha duhkhe habudubu tabu tahe mane sukha

    अतएव माया तारे देय बहु दुःख दुःखे हाबुडुबु तबु ताहे माने सुख

Therefore, illusion give them great misery and suffering. As they are immersed and resubmerged in this misery, they think it is happiness.

  3. Verse 3

cīra rogī duḥkha bhogī śayyāte śuiyā bhālo āchi āja kohe hāsiyā hāsiyā

cira rogi duhkha bhogi sayyate suiya bhalo achi aja kohe hasiya hasiya

    चीर रोगी दुःख भोगी शय्याते शुइया भालो आछि आज कोहे हासिया हासिया

A chronic patient suffering great pain lies upon his bed laughs and smiles, “I am doing well, today!”

  4. Verse 4

hāsi pāy tār “bhālo thākāra” kathāy māyā baddha jīvera bhālo ei bhāve hoy

hasi pay tar “bhalo thakara” kathay maya baddha jivera bhalo ei bhave hoy

    हासि पाय तार “भालो थाकार” कथाय माया बद्ध जीवेर भालो एइ भावे होय

I get amused by their “I’m doing well” talk. For the illusion-bound spirit soul, this is what “fine” means to them.
