हरि हे! दान, प्रतिग्रह, मिथो गुप्तकथा, भक्षन, भोजनदान सङ्गेर लक्षन, एइ छय होय, इहाते भक्तिर प्रान

O Lord Hari, to offer a gift and receive one in return, to give and receive spiritual food, to reveal one’s confidential thoughts and make confidential inquiries , these are the six characteristics of loving association, and in them is found the very soul of devotion.

tattva nā bujhiye, jñāne vā ajñāne, asate e saba kori’ bhakti hārāinu, saṁsārī hoinu, sudūre rohile hari

तत्त्व ना बुझिये, ज्ञाने वा अज्ञाने, असते ए सब कोरिऽ भक्ति हाराइनु, संसारी होइनु, सुदूरे रोहिले हरि

I have failed to understand the Absolute Truth, and by practicing these six activities with non-devotees, either knowingly or unknowingly, I have lost all devotion. Thus I have become a materialist. For me, You, O Lord, remain afar.

kṛṣṇa-bhakta-jane, ei saṅga-lakṣane, ādara koribo jabe bhakti-mahā-devī, āmāra hṛdoya- āsane bosibe tabe

krsna-bhakta-jane, ei sanga-laksane, adara koribo jabe bhakti-maha-devi, amara hrdoya- asane bosibe tabe

कृष्णभक्तजने, एइ सङ्गलक्षने, आदर कोरिबो जबे भक्तिमहादेवी, आमार हृदोय आसने बोसिबे तबे

The day I cherish these activities of intimate association with the devotees of Sri Krsna, that day the great goddess of devotion will ascend the throne of my heart.

yoṣit-saṅgī-jana, kṛṣṇābhakta āra, duṅhu-saṅga-parihari’ tava bhakta-jana- saṅga anukṣana, kabe vā hoibe hari!

yosit-sangi-jana, krsnabhakta ara, dunhu-sanga-parihari’ tava bhakta-jana- sanga anuksana, kabe va hoibe hari!

योषित्सङ्गीजन, कृष्णाभक्त आर, दुङ्हुसङ्गपरिहरिऽ तव भक्तजन सङ्ग अनुक्षन, कबे वा होइबे हरि!

When will I give up the company of those who are addicted to women and those who are not devoted to You? When will I get the constant association of Your devotees, O Lord?
