  1. Verse 1

namas te narasiṁhāya prahlādāhlāda-dāyine hiraṇyakaśipor vakṣaḥ- śilā-ṭaṅka-nakhālaye

Obeisances to Lord Narasiṁha, who delights Prahlāda and whose nails are like chisels on the stone-hard chest of Hiraṇyakaśipu.

  2. Verse 2

ito nṛsiṁhaḥ parato nṛsiṁho yato yato yāmi tato nṛsiṁhaḥ bahir nṛsiṁho hṛdaye nṛsiṁho nṛsiṁham ādiṁ śaraṇaṁ prapadye

Nṛsiṁha is here and there; wherever I go, Nṛsiṁha is there. Outside and in the heart — I take shelter of Lord Nṛsiṁha, the origin of all.

  3. Verse 3

tava kara-kamala-vare nakham adbhuta-śṛṅgaṁ dalita-hiraṇyakaśipu-tanu-bhṛṅgam keśava dhṛta-narahari-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare

On Your lotus hands the wondrous nail-points crush the wasp-like body of Hiraṇyakaśipu. O Keśava in man-lion form — glory to You, Lord of the worlds, Hari! (Also verse 4 of Jayadeva’s Daśāvatāra-stotra.)

Remarks

Temple praṇāma to Lord Nṛsiṁha. Verse 3 is shared with Jayadeva Gosvāmī’s Daśāvatāra-stotra. Often sung for protection; some lineages add further verses before or after.
